Kelee Ann Nesmith
July 19, 1967 - May 12, 2021
Kelee Ann Nesmith, 53, beloved daughter of Martha Ann “Mardi” Nesmith and Francis Edward “Frank” Nesmith passed away peacefully from this life on May 12th, 2021 at Suncoast Hospice Care Center in St. Petersburg, Florida. Following a massive stroke last June, Kelee worked hard to try to overcome the affects of the stroke until more recently when a cancerous brain tumor was discovered and Our Heavenly Father, in His loving mercy, called her home. Kelee was an elementary school teacher in the Pinellas County School System for 27 years. She began teaching following earning her BA degree (with Honors) from USF. Teaching was her joy! She announced while she was in the 3rd grade that her goal was to “become a teacher like Mrs. Moeller” (her 3rd grade teacher) who was a major inspiration and mentor to Kelee for several years until her passing when Kelee was in college. Kelee loved the Lord and doing for others. She had a joyous soul that celebrated her friends’ and family’s milestones and accomplishments. She was also quick to respond in times of need in any way she could be of service. Kelee had many pets in her lifetime. She loved animals and always cared for her cats, dogs, rabbits, horses, and the family-owned Nubian Goats, “Matilda and Sassy” she “claimed” as hers. Kelee loved to cook and enjoyed entertaining, sharing delicious meals and desserts, delighting her in pleasing others. She is survived by her parents, half-brother Todd David Diffee; nephew Jackson Henry Diffee; great aunts; great uncle Joe McAlister; aunts; uncles; cousins and dear, loving friends and co-workers. Kelee will be greatly missed, but will always be close in heart.
