Simmons, Sharon (Robbins) went home to be with Jesus on Thursday, June 20, 2013. She was at home, under Hospice care at the time of her death. She is survived by her husband of 16 years, Verlie, her parents, Harry F. Jr. and Doris Read Obituary
Harry, Dorris and Todd, I am so sorry for the loss of Sharon. I just saw Margaret and David and they told me. Sharon to me was so beautiful and could make me laugh at the drop of a dime.When Sharon would visit Harry I always knew I was going to laugh. Sharon was a beautiful soul and I know she was loved you could see it in Harry's eyes and I know she is in Heaven just waiting and spreading joy. I love you Harry, Doris and Todd. God Bless You!
Although I only know Sharon from a Community Discussion Group that we were both a part of. She was a wonderful prrson know.
Sharon was an amazing, intelligent, talented, and beautiful woman who loved life. I had the privilege to work with Sharon and become friends when we worked together from 1991 to 1994. Her nickname in our office was "The Sharonator!" Anyone who knew her from that time will remember her wonderful dinner parties that usually moved into the living room with her showing off her amazing voice and piano skills. Rest easy, "Sharonator in your well earned joy in Heaven. My prayers are with you, Verlie, and your family.
My heartfelt sympathy all who loved her. We were neighbors from 1967-71, a long time ago, but the memory of a beautiful young girl remains. Trusting our loving God for her safe home-going. We will see her again. Prayers for comfort and peace for all.
Sharon and I worked together at Progress Energy. She was truly an amazing lady who stuck to her convictions, regardless of what anyone else thought. She was a very strong and very kind lady with a heart of gold. I will miss you so much! Verlie, she spoke of you often and always with love and pride. I'm so sorry for your loss.
I am at a loss for words... Sharon was a kind, compassionate, jovial woman who would do anything in the world for a friend in need. I met her through the American Diabetes Association, and over the years our friendship grew. She will be/is sorely missed. My thoughts and prayers to Verlie and all of Sharon's family. May she rest in peace.
On behalf of the Toon Family, we will all be missing an angel ! Sharon was a staple at our home in our growing up years, and had the most beautiful voice. She has received her wings now and will be forever imprinted in our memories.
Sharon was a remarkable woman as she left us with grace, dignity, and courage that I SO ADMIRED in her! I will sorely miss my best friend...my fondest memories are just the two of us going places and taking photographs! We both had a love of photography and we could find beauty in anything...she had such an eye for the unusual! She was so smart, funny, kind and caring and I will NEVER have a friend like her again. I was SO BLESSED to have her in my life! My thoughts and prayers are with her family now as they desperately need God's love, comfort, and assurance that Sharon is now in His Loving Arms...
