I am so sad to hear that Joel is no longer with us. I can't speak for him but he was definitely my first best-friend, first love and first kiss. So many childhood memories. He was always my protector and found new ways to make me laugh. Joel, you will be with me always. I can't believe that last text is the last time we would talk. Wishing I would have made more time.

It was special when Joel would call me to talk quite often and when we were done he would say I love you Grandpa. I will miss our talks.
Joel is my stepson but not really. To me, he is my son and always will be. I will miss his wit and humor. There are no words to express what I feel except that I love you Joel!
