Jorge De La Cruz Rodriguez
I was born in 1977 in a small town in eastern Cuba called Preston. I remember as a child that in my great-grandmother Petra's closet, there were some curious envelopes with blue and red stripes from the United States, which inside had some color photos in which a tall and thin young man appeared and in another one a beautiful and smiling girl. He was cousin Noel, who my great-grandmother loved like a son, he was her nephew who had emigrated to the 'north'. The girl was his daughter Susannah. Many years later I had the opportunity to contact them and learn a little more about their history. Noel and I share the love of a very important person to both of us: Petra. She would be happy to know that we were both able to meet at least from a distance. On behalf of my entire family and myself, our sincerest condolences to the Mosqueda family. Jorge & family.
